A once in a lifetime project, the Credit Valley Trail will be a 100-kilometre pathway through the Credit River Valley – from the hills of the headwaters in Orangeville to Lake Ontario in Port Credit. The trail will connect communities to the beauty of nature, Indigenous heritage and values, rich cultural experiences and the sustaining waters of the Credit River.
Guiding our Vision
Building the Path Forward
In 2017/2018, the Credit Valley Trail(CVT) launched its first five-year strategy, setting the vision for a continuous 100-kilometre trail from the headwaters in Orangeville to Lake Ontario in Port Credit. This strategy established the foundation for planning, partnerships, and early trail development.
Building on these achievements, CVC released a “State of the Trail” report—a refreshed strategy outlining priorities for the next five years. The focus now is on expanding trail connections, enhancing visitor experiences, and deepening collaboration with Indigenous partners to bring the full trail vision to life.
